FA Cup Final! Otherwise known as the post with too much BEER...

BYO! Went over to Broomy's place with a six-pack...

Broomy's beer fridge... Every house should have one... =x

Seriously... He got a really really nice place... Really... Really...

More beers...

Finger food to down your beer with...

Balcony lounging...

At the clubhouse... In Singapore people chop (reserve) seats with tissue packs... In Australia they do the same with BEER!

Bar of clubhouse...

Aftermath... Louis Saha scored the fastest goal in FA Cup history and Chelsea won 2-1... Was hoping Everton will steal it from Chelsea... But it never was going to happen...

Random slightly tipsy girls on Transperth... =x

TID!

Volunteered to help out in the testing for the Australian Sports Commission (ASC)'s Talent Identification and Development (TID) program... Got to school at 10 and spent around 4 hours with the testing... There were a total of 6 subjects and 6 testers! =x

Su spinning the hygrometer as we try to get a measurement of the relative humidity... The hygrometer consist of 2 bulbs, the wet and the dry bulb. The temperature of the wet bulb drops due to evaporation. The difference between the temperature on the 2 bulb gives a measurement of relative humidity... Of course we also have an electronic one... But it's more fun spinning an analog 1... =x

Measurement tape on pole... If you want to be fancy... You can call them stadiometer... Used here to get sitting and standing height...

Weighing scale... I think you use it to get the weight of subjects... =x

Trying out the bench pull here... This test is a measurement of muscular endurance for the upper body... Did 11 of those at 40kg... The highest recorded for the day is 18... =/

Yardstick... Why are they called yardstick? This appartus is used for measuring vertical jump height... This test is a measurement of explosive power...

Speedlight set up for 40m sprint... 4 gates with timing at 10, 20 and 40 metres splits... I kinda like setting up these speedlights... This is of course a measurement of speed...

Speedlight time measurement device... Daul-beam system reduces false start by requiring that subject breaks both beams for a timing measurement... Boring... =x

The testing also involved a measurement of armspan and a bleep/beep/multi stage shuttle run test... The multi stage shuttle run test is a test of endurance... And is of course famous in Singapore for being THE test used by professional players in the Sleague... A min of 13.1 (which I think is pretty reasonable...) must be achieved before they can play in the Sleague...

The famous story with the TID program is that ASC put together an Olympic gold medal winning rowing team based on results from those simple test! They selected individuals who have potential for the sport, trained them, and released them at the Olympic (so violent! =x)... The rest is golden history...

Porn for Olympic weightlifters... 3 platforms for Olympic style weight lifting and other exercises... And a whole lots of weights too!

Porn for people interested in Sports Science... Pneumatic weight training system... So instead of having to move big weight plates... Just step on the weight adjustment lever and the weight will change accordingly... Wicked! But feels weird when I'm actually using it... Give me the Olympic bar anytime!

Last Lesson...

Today's Motor Control tutorial marks the last lesson for this semester... Guess my total attendance is just above the 60% mark... Having gone for most of the tutorials... And skipping most of the lectures! =x Let's put it this way... Why sleep in the lecture hall and get spotted by the lecturers when you can sleep at home? Seriously... Lecture halls are my cure for insomnia... Lecturers with monotonus voices helps, but are not necessary as I can fall asleep with any sorta lecturers... I think it's the low pitch murmuring you normally find in lecture halls that put me to sleep... Either way... I rather sleep at home! =x

Back in Singapore I used to skip lectures to go play soccer/football... =p

So 1 practical exams and 3 papers to go! Alrite...

Brought a couple of scratch'n'win cards for fun... Spent $10 on 5 different cards... Interestingly... The legal age for lottery in WA is 16... Basically they are time waster which will hopefully win you some cash... Scud intro-ed them to me when he was playing with them before his match...

Bugs'n'bucks is $1 and has 6 symbols under the latex, match 3 and win! Boring... Not much of a time waster...

Pirate Stash is basically the same as Bugs'n'bucks, but you get 3 game for $2... Boring too...

Bingo Bonanza is a bingo game... U get 4 boards and 24 numbers on the side... Get 4 corners, an 'X', a line (5 in a row) or a square to win! My favorite of the games... A jolly good waste of time...

Crossword is well... Crossword... You get a crossword board and 20 letters... Scratch out 3 words and above and you win! Only scratched out 2 words... A good time waster... But I perfer bingo...

Didn't win any cash from the games... Will try out the other lottery products from LotteryWest when I feel like it... LotteryWest is like Singapore Pools (or any other lottery system in the World!)... They make humps of cash from gamblers (including me... =x) and then return some of the money to the community to ease their guilt... Don't sue me! Now if only some1 can get me a mahjong set...

Will be assisting in the talent identification (TID) program testing later at 10am... Then it's to the soccer club at night for the FA cup final... Full day ahead! =S

Testing at Challenge Stadium!

Challenge Stadium in Floreat...

Fountain in front of Challenge Stadium...

Western Australian Institute of Sport next to the Challenge Stadium (or is it part of it?)...

Set-up for repeated sprint test for the Perth Glory players...

Chiong ah!

Volunteered to assist my lecturer with the testing of Perth Glory's players at Challenge Stadium... Was late by 9 minutes (Curse Transperth!!!)... But still got there before the testing started... Helped in set-up, testing and disassembling... Good experience... And well... Something to do on a day with no classes... Was involved in the repeated sprint test and had the chance to observe the vertical jump test in action... Also had the chance to watch top level football players in action...

Random graffiti at Glendalough...

SAQ Presentation Night

Went down to Bayswater Soccer Club for the SAQ presentation night... Basically SAQ is a system of training that focuses on Speed, Agility and Quickness... Very interesting information from the session... In the picture is Alan Pearson, director of SAQ International!

Demostration set up... Including micro-hurdle, agility ladder and spiked poles! Demostration includes warm up, numerous drills and a quick cool down...

The Western Australia u-13 team in action on agility ladders!

Spamwich and Football!

Spam... Spam... Spam... Spam... Spam! Lovely spam! Wonderful spam!

If you have always wondered why spam mails are called spam...

Sizzlering spam! Smoking!

Spamwich! Brought them to the football games with me...

Tony and his daughter... 9 months old!

Here in Australia... They start them off young...

Beer after football... =x

Today is the second time someone asked me if Singapore is at war...

First conversation
Aussie guy: Where were you working previously?
Me: I was serving in the military...
Aussie guy: Oh... Is Singapore at war or something?

Second conversation
Another Aussie guy: You have to enroll for the army in Singapore right?
Me: Yeah... 2 years...
Another Aussie guy: Is there some civil war in Singapore?

Yes it's true! NS make Singapore look unsafe! =p

Disclaimer! No baby was fed alcohol in the production of these photos... =x

Life's Weird...

Big wind blow! Wind gust of up to 95km/hr and wind speed of up to 70km/h... FUN!

Tried cooking a seafood blackpepper pasta on 200509... Like those from Swenson in Singapore...

Doesn't look too bad at all... But... Let's jus say I won't be cooking this again... Also had a 1 hour blackout on that day... Which was fun to me... As I got to light up candles all over the house! I like doing small things like tat... =x

Caught a ride out with Nadia to go shopping for supplies... Went to City Farmers (pet supply warehouse) and Coles... Spend 10 minutes looking at hermit crabs and thinking of buying 1 as a pet... =x

Also brought fish&chips from Wahoo Belridge fish&chips... Big pack! $9 meal comes with a drink and sauce...

That's quite a lot of chips... But where's the fish?

Nadia got a jacket for Moko... It's not easy to coax Moko to take photos... Haha!

And Moko got a furcut... See the nicely trimmed rear hair? =x

I will nvr make it as a half decent photographer... My only model is Moko... =x

Would have blogged a little more... If I had not 'lost' my camera... From the 2ond till the 23rd... It was actually inside my comforter... =/ Which tells u I never make my bed in the morning... Or I would have found it sooner... =x But then nobody expects me to be neat and tidy! =)

More of Moko!

Because I'm stuck at home doing my assignments and have nothing better to do... And because Moko spent her early morning patrolling my room... Decided to take more photos of her...

Moko the 1 earred dog! =x

The tail under the curtain...

The dog behind the curtain!

Close-up! See her shiny nose...

This is merely evidence that I do clean my bedsheets... Really... Once every 3 weeks...

There is not much of a sun today... But the sheets dry in about 3 hours... I let them air for another 2 hours after that...
